Digital “Dish on Fish” seafood education campaign helps agency reel in second consecutive honor in Charlotte PRSA communications competition
Butin Integrated Communications captured a first-place Crown Award at the Queen City Public Relations Awards luncheon held here Oct. 23 at Byron’s South End.
The QCPR Awards ceremony, an annual affair hosted by the Charlotte Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, honors local public relations and communications professionals for their research, planning, implementation, and evaluation of communications campaigns locally or nationally.
Our client work was recognized in the category of “Integrated Communications” within the Government, Associations, and Nonprofit Organizations industry grouping. This is our second consecutive QCPR Award in this category, after a runner-up Excellence Award in Integrated Communications in 2018.
“This Crown Award is yet another testament to the bright, creative talent we’ve assembled in Charlotte’s very competitive communications marketplace. I’m very proud of this team,” said Mary Butin, the company founder and CEO. “We believe in exceeding expectations.”
Our winning entry was the “Dish on Fish” digital campaign we created and manage with The National Fisheries Institute, as part of the NFI’s seafood education initiative. The campaign’s centerpiece has been the blog DishonFish.com, which was ranked No. 1 on content reader Feedspot’s list of the “Top 100 Seafood Blogs and Websites for Seafood Lovers in 2018.” Additionally, the blog last spring took home a national PRSA Bronze Anvil award.
“Dish of Fish has been a labor of love from the get-go,” Mary Butin said. “We are fortunate to have clients like the NFI who encourage innovative thinking in public relations while holding us up to a higher standard. It’s what drives us to deliver memorable programs that connect with consumers in a meaningful way.”
